Hey there, amazing friends! 🙌 We're Lisa & David Cooper, your friendly neighborhood high school sweethearts who have been on an incredible journey together. Can you believe it? We're about to celebrate almost 37 years of marriage! ❤️

Let us take you back to where it all began. Our first bundle of joy, Zachary, entered our lives in 1989, and oh boy, did he bring us some unexpected challenges. Zach was born with Down syndrome, a cleft palate, congenital cataracts, and hearing issues. The flood of medical information overwhelmed us, and even a neonatologist suggested we didn't have to take Zach home with us. But guess what? We stood our ground! David bravely told the doctor that Zach was our son, and he would be coming home with us. 💪

Zach has shown us the true meaning of resilience. He's faced numerous surgeries and medical obstacles with unwavering strength, never once complaining. Through it all, he has taught us to see life through a different lens, where the glass is always full. Being Zach's parents has truly transformed us into better individuals. 🌟

Now, let's fast forward to our dream. For over 15 years, we've held a shared vision of owning a business where Zach could work alongside his dad, while also providing employment opportunities for others in an inclusive work environment. Plus, we've always wanted to support the incredible Exceptional Children’s Teachers & Occupational Course of Study (OCS) students at our local high school. 🎓

One evening, while discussing the type of business we should embark on, Zach surprised us all with his brilliant idea: "I want a doughnut shop." From that magical moment, we knew that someday our dream would become a reality. 🍩

So, without further ado, allow us to introduce you to "Down for Doughnuts"! 🎉 Our doughnut shop is more than just a place to satisfy your sweet tooth; it's a beacon of inspiration. Our motto, "Made to Inspire," guides everything we do.

At Down for Doughnuts, you'll find a delightful assortment of doughnuts, gluten-free doughnuts, coffee, and other tasty treats. But here's the best part: our incredible team consists of twelve talented individuals in an inclusive work environment, all working together to create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors. 💖
